Real Estate brokerage helps Lake Forest, Northbrook and Deerfield communities promote identity protection with document shredding and recycling events
Skokie-based Koenig & Strey GMAC Real Estate has announced it will host community Shred Events on April 10 in Lake Forest and Northbrook, and April 24 in Deerfield, providing area residents with free document shredding and recycling services. The events, which will be sponsored by the Lake Forest and Northbrook Koenig & Strey GMAC offices and Cintas® document management services, will be held Saturday, April 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sunset Corners Shopping Center in Lake Forest and at the Shopping Center on Cherry Lane in downtown Northbrook. The Deerfield Shred Event will be held Saturday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Farmers’ Market Lot, located at Robert York Road and Deerfield Avenue.
“Koenig & Strey agents understand that identity protection is very important to home buyers and sellers in the communities that they serve,” said Bob Bush, branch executive of Koenig & Strey’s Lake Forest West and Northbrook offices. “Now, we’re offering this service to community members so they can protect themselves from identity theft and fraud.”
“Properly handing personal financial documents is essential, which is why Koenig & Strey takes great care to ensure all sensitive documents are destroyed according to industry standards,” said Darla Terrell, branch executive of Koenig & Strey’s Lake Forest West and Northbrook offices.
Participants also will feel good knowing that their documents are being properly recycled, rather than shredded and tossed into the garbage, added Mona Hellinga, branch executive of Koenig & Strey’s Lake Forest East office.
Those interested in participating in the event should bring personal documents, such as cancelled checks and bank statements for shredding and recycling to the Sunset Corners Shopping Center located at 825 S. Waukegan Road in Lake Forest, the Shopping Center on Cherry Lane in downtown Northbrook on April 10, or the Farmers’ Market Lot in Deerfield on April 24. Credit cards, diskettes, CDs and cell phones will be accepted for recycling as well.
