In a civic-minded community like Evanston, it’s no surprise that the Koenig & Strey Evanston office is giving back to the community. On Sunday, August 19th Koenig & Strey broker Sue Salisbury, for the 4th consecutive year, will head the efforts of around 15 of her associates at the Koenig & Strey Evanston Soup Kitchen Volunteer Day.

The Interfaith Action of Evanston coordinates soup kitchens four days a week at different Evanston locations including St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Evanston, which provides the facility every Sunday starting at 3:00 PM. Salisbury, a parishioner of St. Paul’s, thought it would be a great idea for her K&S office team to handle one of the Sundays from start to finish, and her colleagues agreed.

The Koenig & Strey group typically hosts the soup kitchen one Sunday each August and posts a sign-up sheet, weeks beforehand, listing the various tasks such as food preparation, set-up, being a server and clean-up.

“Besides the wonderful feeling one receives from giving back to the community’s less fortunate, we always have a fun time,” said Salisbury. Anyone interested in helping out this year should contact Sue Salisbury at 847-556-5853 and or ssalisbury@koenigstrey.com.
