EVANSTON, IL – In their charitable tradition, the sales associates and staff at the Evanston office of Koenig & Strey Real Living will offer their parking lot to those attending Northwestern University home football games with all proceeds benefiting local charities.
"We've been doing this for the past 15 years, and in the spirit of good sportsmanship we welcome carloads of opposing teams' fans in order to help some very deserving local charities," said Mike Stern, branch executive of Koenig & Strey Real Living Evanston office. The collected parking fees will benefit Mary Lou's Place, an Evanston women and children's shelter, as well as Youth Technology Corp, an Evanston Township High School organization that lets at risk teens learn practical computer skills, teamwork, leadership and work habits that greatly improve their academic performance and career prospects.
Football fans can park and participate in this cause during any of the five Northwestern home games this year including Illinois State on September 11th, Central Michigan on September 25th, Purdue on October 9th; Homecoming against Michigan State on October 23rd and finally Iowa on November 13th. The tax deductable cost is $20 per car and tailgating is not allowed.
